What does "health and wellbeing" really mean?
Health isn't just about your body – it's about your whole self. That includes your mental and emotional wellbeing, your relationships, and even your culture and community. Wellbeing is about living with purpose, bouncing back from challenges, feeling connected, and looking after yourself in ways that matter. It also includes things like what you eat, how you move, your energy levels, and making time for joy.
So, what exactly is health coaching?
Health coaching is a supportive, one-on-one partnership where we work together to figure out what's getting in the way of your wellbeing and how to move forward. It's about setting goals that matter to you, breaking them down into do-able steps, and finding your own motivation. It's a space for exploring options, making changes that stick, and building the habits that help you feel better – day by day.
What is lifestyle medicine?
Lifestyle medicine is all about how the choices you make every day – like what you eat, how much you move, how you sleep and manage stress – can have a big impact on your health. An evidence-based approach, it focuses on preventing illness and improving chronic conditions by making positive changes to how you live your life.
How does CARE Health Coaching fit with the healthcare system?
CARE Health Coaching works with the health system, not instead of it. We help you make sense of medical advice and find ways to take practical steps to manage your health and wellbeing – in ways that actually work for you. We use lifestyle medicine and tools based on behavioural science to help prevent illness and, in some cases, improve existing conditions. We're not a replacement for medical care – if you need a diagnosis, prescription, or treatment, you should contact your healthcare provider.
What makes CARE Health Coaching different?
Sue Jones, health coach and founder of Care Health Coaching has over 25 years of nursing experience, has raised three kids and is a carer at heart. She knows exactly what exhaustion, overwhelm and running on empty feels like and how hard it is to find time or motivation to do anything about it. With her own personal experience and years of caring for a wide diversity of people, Sue brings knowledge, experience, reality, understanding and laughter – one of the best medicines of all.
Why does CARE Health Coaching specialise in supporting carers?
During her 25 + years of nursing, Sue kept seeing the same pattern: carers quietly putting themselves last until overwhelm, health issues, isolation and burnout set in. Often, carers don’t know what to do or where to turn for help. CARE Health Coaching was developed to address that need.
Who counts as a Carer or Caregiver?
A carer is anyone who spends a lot of time looking after someone else – whether it's a family member, friend, or part of your job. This includes health professionals like nurses, midwives, support workers and doctors. Carers often put others first, which can make it really hard to prioritise or find time for their own wellbeing.
What issues can CARE Health Coaching help with?
Sue helps with the common issues that carers often encounter. These include:
• Feeling just so tired, deflated, running on empty
• Struggling to eat, sleep or exercise well
• Fed up, angry, unmotivated, out of balance
• Feeling stuck, overwhelmed, ineffective or isolated
• Juggling chaos with endless to-do lists
• Concerns around your own health and wellbeing
• Constantly putting others’ needs before your own
What will I gain from being coached?
Coaching feedback indicates that you will feel heard, supported, lighter, calmer, happier, healthier and hopeful. Your life will have a stronger foundation so that you can stay focused on what is most important to you, work through the hard stuff, and keep motivated to find time for your own health and wellbeing, even when the going gets tough. Specific benefits can include:
• Increased energy, interest, effectiveness, resilience and life balance
• Clearer thinking, better sleeping, and a sense of control
• Improved motivation, purpose, attitude and relationships
• Better health outcomes including support for managing chronic conditions
Do I need to be a carer to be coached by Sue?
No, not at all. No matter who we are or what we do, we all experience similar challenges throughout our lives and we all need a little help sometimes. You are very welcome to explore whether CARE Health Coaching is right for you with a free clarity call.
What can I expect from a coaching session?
- A relaxed, confidential space to focus on you;
- Zero judgement – just honest, supportive conversation;
- Time without distractions or interruptions;
- The chance to talk about what really matters to you;
- Permission to pause or stop at any time – this is your space;
- Kindness, care, and encouragement from someone who gets it;
- Tools and insights grounded in science, lifestyle medicine and real-life experience;
- You will make a small but powerful step in the right direction.
How many sessions do I need?
This is your own personal journey – not one size fits all. Most clients quickly discover that change and progress take time, and support is essential while habits are formed.
The 12-week BREAKTHROUGH package was developed with this in mind. You will know when you are ready to step out on your own again and CARE Health Coaching will only be a call away if you need a bit more support.
What are the CARE coaching packages?
- Foundation – Get back to basics so that you can thrive, not just survive.
- Breakthrough – Gain energy, focus, balance and resilience to find your spark again.
- Momentum – Keep it going. Build consistency and stay on track with the life you want to live.
What does CARE stand for?
CARE is the process we follow in every coaching session:
- Connect – "you-time" with a professional who listens and cares;
- Acknowledge – recognising your purpose and what's real for you, without judgement;
- Restore – re-establish your balance, energy and strength;
- Empower – building confidence, choice and a sense of control.
What does "empowered" mean?
Feeling empowered means knowing yourself – your strengths, your challenges, and those inner thoughts that sometimes hold you back. It means believing that you can take action and feeling like you're in charge of your own life. It's about confidence, choice and having the freedom to create the change you want.
